Grounds and Common Areas Rules and Regulations
Sherwood Forest Shores Association common areas are for the use and enjoyment of members in good standing and their guests. Guests must be accompanied by the member when using facilities. All persons using the properties and the said facilities do so at their own risk and liability.
- Use of the clubhouse and recreational area is restricted to members and their accompanied guests. Members will be held responsible for the conduct and actions of their guests.
- Members wishing to use the clubhouse may do so by reserving the facility with the Board Secretary. In doing so the member accepts responsibility for the property and equipment. At the discretion of the SFSA Board of Directors, a $50.00 refundable deposit is required for the use of the clubhouse at the time of reservation. The clubhouse must be left in as good or better condition than before or the deposit is forfeited.
- Scooters used by the handicapped and elderly and maintenance vehicles are the only motorized vehicles permitted in the recreation or common ground lawn areas. Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, mopes, mini-bikes, ATVs, go-carts, etc. are not permitted on the recreation or common lawn area.
- All vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas. Overnight parking is not permitted.
- Parking near the boat ramp is restricted to handicapped parking only and for 10 minutes to load and unload vehicles.
- Overnight use of the recreation area is not permitted.
- When picnic facilities (tables and grills) are used, the area must be left in as good or better condition than before, with all trash and garbage deposited in the refuse cans provided for this purpose. In addition, all grill fires must be extinguished and picnic tables moved back to their original location.
- Household trash may not be placed in the SFSA trash receptacles.
- In compliance with an ordinance enacted on September 10, 1998, by the Northumberland County Board of Supervisors, SFSA residents and guests must keep their dogs under their immediate control at all times. Therefore, dogs are not allowed to run loose or to roam the streets and other common areas of SFHS. Safety of pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and other pets on our streets and common areas is of the utmost importance. All violations of this county ordinance should be reported promptly to the Northumberland County sheriff or dog warden.
- Any dogs not on the owner’s property and within the boundaries of Sherwood Forest Shore must be on a leash.
- Anyone exercising dogs on common areas such as the clubhouse grounds, basketball and tennis court area, is responsible for cleaning up any feces left by their pet.
- No pet other than service dogs are allowed in the clubhouse.
- Creating a fire, other than with the grills provided creates a fire hazard and is prohibited.
- Disturbing the peace (loud music, loud talking, yelling etc.) from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM is prohibited.
Architectural Control Rules and Regulations
- The Architectural Control Committee ensures the use of the member properties for attractive residential uses, to prevent impairment of the attractiveness of the properties, to maintain the desirability of the community and to assure compliance with the restrictions provided for by the Declaration.
- The proposed construction and/or proposed improvement application must be completed in its entirety and it must be approved by the board of directors before construction starts. Failure to do so may result in a rejection of the project because of some non conformity within the community or one or more county regulations.
- Plans and specifications showing the nature, kind, shape, size, height, materials and location of any building, fence, wall or other structure must be submitted to the Architectural Control Committee prior to the commencement of construction.
- Each submission must be accompanied with an approved building permit when required by Northumberland County.
- The Architectural Control Committee will review and make recommendations to the board of directors who shall approve or disapprove plans and specifications within thirty (30) days of submission.

SFSA Pool General Rules And Regulations
- Normal hours of operation are between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., starting the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and ending on Labor Day weekend except during inclement weather or special circumstances. The dates and times may be modified by the Board of Directors.
- Property owners are issued two pool passes to be distributed to property owners when they first use the pool.
- The number of guests is limited to four unless guests are the property owner's children and/or grandchildren.
- All guests must be accompanied by a property owner in good standing.
- Property owner may leave once guest(s) are signed in, if one guest is at least 16 years of age
- Property owner is responsible for conduct of guests.
- Property owners not in good standing are not allowed to use the pool and may not come as a guest of another property owner.
- Pool attendants are not employed as life guards.
- Use of the pool is at your own risk.
- No one under 13 may use the pool without being accompanied or supervised by a member or a guest who is at least 16 years old. Property owner assumes all risk for ensuring all children are properly supervised.
- A special "out of town" guest pass may be requested from the secretary of the board of directors or member of the pool committee in the event a property owner is unable to accompany their guests to the pool.
- "Out of town" means a distance of at least 60 miles.
- The property owner must include the names, ages, addresses and phone numbers of all guests.
- One of the guests must be at least 21 years of age.
- A reasonable explanation of why the property owner cannot accompany the guest must also be included.
- Swimsuits are required attire to enter the pool.
- Children in diapers must wear swimmers pants.
- Children using the wading pool must be supervised by a person 16 or older within the wading pool fence.
- Diving is only allowed in deep end of the pool and from the diving platform. Only front dives and jumps are allowed from diving platform.
- Eating is not permitted inside the fence surrounding the pools. Drinks are not permitted within the fenced area around the pools. Water in plastic containers is allowed.
- The following are prohibited inside fenced area of pool facility
- Running, horseplay, roller skates, skateboards, bicycles, motor bikes, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, smoking, chewing gum and pets.
- The board of directors has vested pool attendants with the power to make decisions that are fair and needed for everyone's safety. Pool attendants have the authority to ask property owners and/or guests to leave the pool and/or surrounding area for failure to adhere to the rules and regulations.
- The most current rules and regulations with any changes made by the board will be posted at the pool and the Sherwood Forest website.
SFSA Pier And Ramp Regulations
- Sherwood Forest Shores Association's boat slips may be reserved only to SFSA property owners.
- Property owners will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.
- Only boats owned and insured by the property owner, currently reserving the slip, may be kept in his/her slip.
- Maximum boat length is 32 feet. Proof of boat ownership and insurance required at time of reservation or renewal.
- The community pier and ramp are for the sole use and enjoyment of SFSA property owners. All others are trespassing.
- Guests of SFSA property owners may use these facilities only when accompanied by a SFSA property owner at all times.
- Property owners who do not reserve a slip may use the Transient slips, on a first come, first served basis.
- Yearly slip holders are expressly prohibited from letting other use their slip without prior approval of the Dockmaster.
- Sherwood Forest Shores Association owners who reserve a slip are not permitted to use a Transient slip without the express permission of the Dockmaster.
- An adult property owner must accompany children under 16 years of age, on the pier.
- Bicycles, scooters, and skateboards, as well as other inherently unstable devices, are not permitted on the pier or ramp at any time.
- Only Sherwood Forest Shores slip holders and their guests are allowed beyond the yellow line at the start of the finger piers.
- Commercial use of the Sherwood Forest Shores Marina Facility is expressly prohibited.
- The facility cannot be used as a staging area to conduct commerce elsewhere.
- Slip holders and guest slips users who willfully violate pier and ramp regulations shall have their slip holder/usage and ramp rights terminated.
